Platte Valley Percherons
Our Broodmare Band

(Please be patient-this page takes a few moments to load)

We started off in 1993 with a pair of farm geldings and spent the next few years hitching them for the corn husking events, parades, and small shows in the area. After taking them to the farm classes at The 1994 World Percheron Congress we quickly decided we wanted to get more involved in breeding and showing registered Percheron horses.

So in March of 1995 we contacted Albert and Karen Cleve of Blue Ribbon Farms. The result was our first registered mare purchase of Blue Ribbon Farms Dukes Debut (Debi)  We were so impressed with Debi we went back 2 months later and bought her full sister.

Blue Ribbon Farms Dukes Ebony (Bones)

She is a full sister to Debi.  Ebony and Debi have always done well for us in the group halter classes.

Ebony is an almost mirror image of her sister and since she has been retired from the show ring she does light fun harness duty at home.  She is still our favorite to hook up and take for a spin, and she loves it as much as we do!

UPDATE!! Ebony has surprised us with a filly foal, no surprise it was coming but out of the foals Ebony has had this is just the second filly.  We named this tall leggy foal Platte Valley's Mac's Debutante, after Ebony's grand dam and we will call her "Debi" after Ebony's sister who we loved and miss so much. We will have pictures of her on the website very soon.

Ebony has been retired as a broodmare and is looking forward to a life of easy light driving duty and pasture ornament.  We thank Richard Pierce of Sumner Nebraska for giving Ebony a great ending to a life that included 1st Honorable mention All-American, her first stud foal Blue Ribbon Farms Jupiter, being named All-American, many All-American nominee foals, 1st place team of mares at Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska State Fairs and motherhood.  You are Blue Ribbon all the way.....We love ya Bones!!

E.T.F.’s Camiele

Bred by Elwyn and Toni Hartwick of El-Tone Farms, we bought Camiele at the 1998 Mid America Sale at Gordyville. She was 2 years old at the time.

We took Camiele home and begin fitting her for show. At the Minnesota State Percheron show in Rochester she was first and reserve junior champion, not bad for her first time out. She was 10th that year at nationals and we knew we had something special.

In 1999 as a three year old, Camiele was 2nd at the National Percheron show in Indiana. Put together with her full sister Princess they were 3rd in the produce at nationals and 3rd as best 3 mares owned by exhibitor (with Debut).

In the spring of 1999 we bred Camiele to Blue Ribbon Farms Garth and the result was a filly born on Jan 24, 2000 by the name of Platte Valleys Ruffian Rose.  Ruffian has had a very successful show career and has joined the broodmare band here at home.  She is the kind of a mare you could pull out of the pasture, take to any show, and she would still have the "Wow" factor.

Bred back to Garth for a 2001 foal Camiele did 'er again by providing us with a filly foal we named Platte Valley's Tuff Enuff. "Tuffy" went undefeated as a foal in 2001 and Camiele and Tuff together also remained undefeated in the Mare and Foal Class.  Tuffy has joined the broodmare band here at home.

Platte Valley's Redi to Rumble was born Feb 14, 2002, out of Camiel and Garth.  Due to a leg injury Rumbles was unable to enter the show ring until the 2002 World Congress.  She did have a great show career and is being bred to Mac for a 2006 foal.  We may take Rumbles out for the 2005 show season.

Camiele did er again on Feb 4th 2003 this time with a beautiful filly, Platte Valley's Gisele.  Gisele was shown in 2004 and will be headed to the Mid-America sale at Gordyville Illinois in Feb 2005.

Camiele was bred to our stallion Lone Oak Mac for a 2004 foal.  She delivered her first stud foal, Platte Valley's Phoenix on January 27th 2004.  Phoenix's first show was  at the National Percheron Show in Indianapolis where he won the Senior Stallion Foal class.  Look for him on the tanbark in 2005.

Bred back to Lone Oak Mac for 2005 , Camiele foaled early and Platte Valley's Mac's Peerless her new filly, is now pictured on the "Foals"  page.

UPDATE!!  Camiele deliver another Mac stud foal, we named Platte Valley's Mac's Flint because with his mother standing behind him, ready to back him  up, he is quite the fire starter among the foals.    Pictures will be on the foals page soon.

Platte Valley’s Ruffian Rose

Born Jan 24, 2000 to Camiele and Garth. Ruffian joined our broodmare band as soon as she turned 3.

Ruffian delivered her first foal a stud named Platte Valley's Super X on January 27th 2004.

Her second foal Platte Valley's Macs Magic is safe on the ground and pictures are available on the "Foals" page.

Update!!  Ruffian had a Mac filly foal January 3 , 2006.  This big filly is named Platte Valley's Mac's Eleanor and looks to be a good one.  Pictures on the foals page, updated pictures coming soon!

Platte Valley's Tuff Enuff

This full sister to Ruffian was foaled in 2001.  "Tuffy" has had a great show career thus far.  When she turned 3 she was added to the broodmare band and bred to Lone Oak Mac for a late March 2005 foal.

Tuffy foaled March 19 2005 and had a healthy stallion foal.  Pictures of "Mark" can be found on the "Foals"  page..

UPDATE!!  Tuffy had a stallion foal on March 17th 2006.  He has just the right amount of chrome to be called Platte Valley's Mac' Harley.  Pictures coming soon to the foals page.

Platte Valley's Redi to Rumble

Third in the series out of Camiele and Garth, "Rumbles" was foaled in 2002.  This full sister to Ruff and Tuffy has also been shown successfully. Rumbles has been confirmed in foal to Lone Oak Mac for an early 2006 foal.  Rumbles will be broke to drive and she will see  the tanbark in 2005 in halter and hitch.

UPDATE!!  Rumbles had a stallion foal in January 2006.  He is a big black colt that will be called Platte Valley's Mac's Emeril after Kerry's favorite chef.

...........A New addition to our broodmare band will be Jaegers Amber's Gloria

She is 18hh, 3 years old, and will be an excellent addition to our broodmare band.  Gloria was shown successfully in 2004 and 2005.

She is a nice big mare of a "different" color than we have here at Platte Valley, but when they look AND move like she does we can afford to be "color blind"!

Bred the week after she arrived at Platte Valley she has been confirmed in foal to "Lone Oak Mac" for an early 2006 foal.  She is fitting in like the rest of the mares we own.  She has a great disposition, excellent conformation and she is an easy breeder.  That is the beginnings of a great broodmare.

Many Thanks to Mike and Trish Jaeger for selling us this mare.

UPDATE!!  Gloria had a stallion foal we named Platte Valley's Mac's Holy Smoke ("Smoky")  after....Kerry's favorite Bar B Que Sauce!
